Hello and welcome!

My name is Kathryn Woolley

and this site is here
to give visitors a brief glance into my life.

MUSIC: AQUARIUM FROM CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS

I play in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's first violin section. August of 2011 will mark the beginning of my 17th season with the CSO!
For six years, I was the Assistant Concertmaster of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.

Below is a picture of me when I was four. I am about to eat some birthday cake -- which is still one of my favorite desserts to eat!

MY BIRTHDAY PARTY

I began to play the violin at age four. My first teacher was Mrs. Agnes T. Nelson. At age six, I performed as a soloist with the Indiana Chamber Orchestra -- Ronald Ondrejka conducting. I performed again with Mr. Ondrejka and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, when I was ten, playing the first movement of Haydn's Piano Concerto in D.

RONALD ONDREJKA and KATHRYN

This turned out to be my only piano performance with an orchestra. I have since then performed many times as violin soloist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. My most recent concert there was in January of 1998.

KATHRYN

Here is a picture of me with my violin when I was ten.

My brother, Mark, also plays the violin. We are a year and a half apart in age so my Mom started taking Mark and me to the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (UC/CCM), where we studied with Conny Kiradjieff.

A sad note: Mr. Kiradjieff past away on August 8, 2008, at age 77. He will be missed dearly. Conny retired from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in May of 2004. He played for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for 49 years!
