Hello and welcome! My name is Kathryn Woolley and this site is here to give visitors a brief glance into my life. MUSIC: AQUARIUM FROM CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS I play in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's first violin section. August of 2011 will mark the beginning of my 17th season with the CSO! For six years, I was the Assistant Concertmaster of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. You are visitor number Below is a picture of me when I was four. I am about to eat some birthday cake -- which is still one of my favorite desserts to eat! MY BIRTHDAY PARTY I began to play the violin at age four. My first teacher was Mrs. Agnes T. Nelson. At age six, I performed as a soloist with the Indiana Chamber Orchestra -- Ronald Ondrejka conducting. I performed again with Mr. Ondrejka and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, when I was ten, playing the first movement of Haydn's Piano Concerto in D. RONALD ONDREJKA and KATHRYN This turned out to be my only piano performance with an orchestra. I have since then performed many times as violin soloist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. My most recent concert there was in January of 1998. KATHRYN Here is a picture of me with my violin when I was ten. My brother, Mark, also plays the violin. We are a year and a half apart in age so my Mom started taking Mark and me to the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (UC/CCM), where we studied with Conny Kiradjieff. A sad note: Mr. Kiradjieff past away on August 8, 2008, at age 77. He will be missed dearly. Conny retired from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in May of 2004.
